A Dieppe Carved Bone Needle Case, circa 1900
Description
A Dieppe carved bone needle case, circa 1900, of cylindrical form. Crafted from bone, exhibiting natural yellowing and fine striations in the ribbed sections. It features a central smooth panel The central section is flanked by two ribbed segments with ring-turned decoration, separated by thin, reddish-brown rings, possibly wood or brass. The right end terminates in a silver-toned metallic cap, while the left end also has a metallic or reddish-brown component.
