Description
A pair of antique silver oval picture frames, assayed in Birmingham. The larger frame features a reeded or textured rim and contains a light green fabric insert. It bears hallmarks including a lion passant, an anchor mark for Birmingham assay, and a date letter ‘t’. The smaller frame, resting on a small tripod base, exhibits an embossed floral or scrollwork design on its rim and contains a discolored, textured backing under glass. It bears similar hallmarks, specifically a lion passant, an anchor for Birmingham, and a date letter ‘v’. Both frames display characteristics consistent with late 19th or early 20th-century production.
