Description
A pair of William Moorcroft for Macintyre Florian Ware ‘Cornflower and Butterfly’ vases. Each tall, cylindrical glazed ceramic vase features relief-molded decoration in varying shades of blue, depicting stylized cornflower motifs on the lower body and butterflies towards the rim, flanked by two small dark blue handles. The creamy glazed undersides bear the printed mark ‘FLORIAN WARE’ by ‘J.S. MACINTYRE & CO. BURSLEM, ENGLAND,’ alongside a Registered Number ‘R.N:326369,’ and hand-painted marks including ‘W.M. des.’ and ‘M.731.’ Dating to circa 1900.
