A Chinese Swatow Ware Plate
Description
A circular, shallow ceramic plate, crafted from white-glazed ware with exposed reddish-brown biscuit on its base. The interior features a central blue motif, possibly floral or symbolic, encircled by concentric blue lines, and further adorned with a band of repeating floral or foliate designs on the cavetto, along with smaller stylized blue motifs near the rim. The reverse reveals a broad, unglazed reddish-brown foot rim and central base, the latter also bearing a small blue motif and heavy discoloration.
