Lot 131:
A Collection of Royal Worcester and Other Commemorative Ceramic Plates and Decorative Wares
Description
This lot comprises a diverse collection of approximately 30-40 decorative and functional items, predominantly crafted from glazed ceramic. Key pieces include several commemorative plates, with one identified through web intelligence as a Royal Worcester ‘HRH Princess Charlotte Of Cambridge Christening Collectible Plate’ (July 5, 2015). Other commemorative plates feature photographic transfers and printed designs related to the British Royal Family, such as “HRH Prince George of Cambridge,” an engagement plate for “HRH Prince William of Wales to Catherine Middleton November 16, 2010,” a “ROYAL BIRTH 1982” plate, a “1977” Silver Jubilee plate depicting Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, and a “1952” plate. Further plates commemorate the “150th ANNIVERSARY OF The World’s First Public Passenger Steam Railway” mentioning “GEORGE STEPHENSON” (from 1825), and one featuring a portrait of a male figure resembling Cliff Richard. The collection also contains a variety of ceramic figurines, some resembling a Nativity scene, others appearing whimsical; several mugs, small bowls, decorative boxes, a small pitcher, and a ceramic shoe-shaped item. Visible materials are primarily ceramic, with various painted and transferware decorations, often with gilded accents.
