Ten Tianex Russian Legends 1989 Porcelain Collector's Plates
Description
A set of ten Tianex Russian Legends porcelain collector’s plates from a 1989 series. Each plate features vivid, narrative scenes in the distinct Palekh miniature painting style, characterized by richly colored figures and landscapes against a dark background, accented with natural gold. The reverse of one plate is marked ‘Tianex’, ‘Палех’ (Palekh) and ‘1989,’ with Russian text translating to: “1989 This new plate is the sole official release by Palekh master Vladimir Bazdunov, based on A.S. Pushkin’s poem ‘The Tale of the Golden Cockerel.’ It is the third in the ‘Russian Fairy Tales’ collectible series, produced by the Mirakom porcelain factory with natural gold, limited by 195 days of firing. Bradley No. 60-V25-1.3.” The plates are explicitly labeled as art objects, not for food use, due to potentially toxic precious metal pigments.
