Description
A hand-knotted wool Caucasian Kazak runner rug. This rectangular runner features a distinct geometric design in a vibrant palette of deep red, navy blue, dark green, brown, cream, and hints of yellow. The main field is segmented, displaying a series of stylized ‘tree of life’ or branch-like motifs within vertical panels at one end, and a prominent cruciform or abstract central medallion flanked by smaller geometric elements, along with a large inverted ‘V’ motif, at the other. Multiple geometric borders, incorporating repeating star and diamond patterns, frame the central design. The rug is constructed with a wool pile and finished with off-white woven fringes at both ends.
