A Pair of Early 20th Century Hand-Colored Prints by Robt. Bowyer
Description
A pair of early 20th century hand-colored engravings or lithographs, published in London by Robt. Bowyer. Each print depicts a bust-length portrait of a woman in period attire, characteristic of the Regency/Neoclassical style. One print, titled ‘Spring,’ features a woman adorned with pink flowers, while the other, titled ‘Autumn,’ shows a woman with dark foliage in her hair. Both artworks are housed within oval giltwood or gilt gesso frames, featuring a decorative molded border and surmounted by an elaborate carved ribbon bow crest. A white sticker with ‘b003’ is visible on the lower front of the ‘Spring’ frame.
