Description
A Franklin Mint ‘The Royal Hunt’ tapestry by Marc Waymel, depicting a medieval or Renaissance-style narrative scene. The large woven textile features multiple figures, horses, and hounds within a lush landscape. The central tableau portrays a lady in elaborate attire seated on a white horse, accompanied by other figures in period dress, also with horses and hunting dogs. Distant castles, a river, and prominent trees are visible in the background. The entire scene is enclosed by a robust border of naturalistic oak leaves and acorns in autumnal hues. The tapestry is currently displayed suspended from a dark wood rod with textile loops, upon which two white labels are affixed, bearing the numbers “9899” and “104.”
