Akubra Australian Felt Slouch Hat with Rising Sun Badge, Dated 1967
Description
An Akubra Australian felt slouch hat, dated 1967. This olive-green (khaki) felted wool wide-brimmed hat features a light-colored ribbed fabric hatband and a brown leather sweatband with an accompanying chinstrap. The brim is secured on one side by a small metal clip, and two small metal pins are visible on the opposite side. The internal brown leather sweatband is stamped “DUNKERLEY LTD,” “AKUBRA 1967,” “6 7/8” (size), and “MADE IN AUSTRALIA.” Attached to the upturned side of the brim is a prominent gold-toned metal Rising Sun Badge, depicting a stylized map of Australia with radiating rays and the word “AUSTRALIA” across its base.
