Lot 269:
A Three-Piece Silver Tea Service, London, Early 20th Century
Description
A three-piece tea service comprising a teapot, an open sugar bowl, and a creamer/milk jug. The material is confirmed as Silver. The service features a classical or Regency-style aesthetic with reeded bands around the bodies and small, spherical feet. The teapot has a squat, rectangular-shouldered body, a curved spout, and dark wooden handles and finial. Visible hallmarks on one of the smaller vessels include a lion passant, indicating sterling standard, a crowned leopard’s head for the London assay office, and a capital letter ‘G’ or ‘C’ within a shield, likely a date letter.
