A Pair of Mid-20th Century Ceramic Vessels, including a Sylvac Planter
Description
This lot comprises two distinct glazed ceramic decorative vessels. The first is a Sylvac dark green oval-shaped planter or cachepot, model number 1115. It features a continuous bas-relief frieze depicting classical figures and is finished with ribbed banding. The unglazed underside is clearly impressed with “1115”, “Z”, “SYLVAC”, and “MADE IN ENGLAND”, dating it to the mid-20th century. The second item is a cream-colored, glossy glazed ceramic vessel, possibly a vase or centerpiece bowl, featuring a highly stylized fanned or shell-like body with integrated handles and an oval foot, indicative of an Art Deco or Mid-Century aesthetic.
