Lot 176:
A Pair of Anglo-Indian Brass Trays
Description
A pair of brass metal trays, comprising one large, round, intricately decorated example and one smaller, oval, and relatively plain. The large, round tray, consistent with Anglo-Indian craftsmanship, features a central six-pointed star motif, likely a Star of David or Solomon’s Seal, encircled by multiple concentric bands of finely engraved or chased decoration comprising arabesque scrollwork and geometric patterns, with a reeded edge. The smaller, oval tray appears undecorated. Both items exhibit visible signs of age, including surface wear, scratching, and varying degrees of tarnishing and patination. No translatable textual markings are discernible.
