Description
A Copeland & Garrett Late Spode ‘King Chintz’ Pattern handled platter, late 19th/early 20th century, depicting exotic birds and pink peonies on a textured green ground.
The collection further comprises ten additional pieces of assorted glazed ceramic and porcelain ware. These include a vibrant, multi-colored majolica-style leaf-form serving dish; a blue-glazed relief-decorated serving dish with autumnal branch motifs; a dark glazed earthenware dog figurine; a white cylindrical box decorated with crests and flags, bearing partial text ‘I CAN GET A LETTER OR SO SEND YOU THE BOX’; a small cup with a sepia landscape decoration; a white porcelain sugar bowl with gold scrollwork; a pair of matching white and gold salt and pepper shakers; and three various mugs. The mugs include one with a pink floral motif, one with a black spiderweb design displaying partial text ‘ate the’, and a commemorative style mug with blue patterns and a profile portrait alongside text including ‘M.H. N.N. CHURCH’.
