A Late 19th/Early 20th Century Brass Compound Microscope with Fitted Wooden Case
Description
An antique compound microscope, predominantly constructed from polished brass, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The instrument features a tall, vertical draw-tube, a mechanical stage with a sub-stage mirror, and multiple objective lenses mounted on a revolving nosepiece. It is supported by a shaped wooden base. Accompanying the microscope is its fitted, rectangular wooden case, complete with a hinged front door and a metal carrying handle on top. A visible keyhole is present on the case door. No discernible manufacturer’s marks or text are visible on the microscope or case.
