A Chinese silver figure depicting Shouxing (God of Longevity), circa 1900
Description
A Chinese silver figure depicting Shouxing (God of Longevity), also known as Shou Lao. The elderly male deity is rendered in a traditional East Asian style, cast from silver as indicated by the “足紋” (zúwén – full fineness/pure silver) mark on the underside. The figure holds a gnarled staff in one hand and a spherical object in the other, with a dragon motif visible on his robes. The hollow base features additional impressed marks, including “é †èˆˆ” (Shùnxìng) and “裕” (Yù), along with a central threaded hole to affix to the wooden base
