A Noritake Sweet Leilani Pattern Porcelain Dinner and Tea Service
Description
A set of fine porcelain dinner and tea ware by Noritake, Japan, in the Sweet Leilani pattern (number 3482). The service features a white ground decorated with a transfer-printed border of delicate pink floral sprays, grey scrolls, and laurel-style foliage, finished with a gold-tone rim. The collection includes a variety of items including dinner plates, salad or dessert plates, side plates, saucers, a large oval serving platter, a smaller oval open serving bowl, a lidded sugar bowl, a creamer or milk jug, and a gravy boat with an integrated underplate. Several teacups are also present. The bases of the pieces bear a green printed maker mark featuring the word Noritake above a laurel wreath containing the letter N topped with a crown, above the word Japan and the pattern name Sweet Leilani. One piece retains an inventory sticker marked 9777.
