Mid-Century Decorative Domed Glass Woodland Scene Wall Charger
Description
A large decorative circular wall charger featuring a domed convex glass body. The reverse-painted or transfer-printed decoration depicts a vibrant woodland landscape with several deer, including a stag and does, set amongst silver birch trees with a body of water and mountains in the background. The scene is presented in a bright palette of greens, blues, and browns. The glass plate is held within a decorative gilt-metal rim featuring an embossed Greek key pattern, secured by metal tabs. This style of decorative plaque is characteristic of mid-20th century European design. A small rectangular paper label with the handwritten number 50 is adhered to the glass surface.
