A 14 Piece Shelley Fine Bone China Partial Tea Service Signed by Frank Johnson
Description
A 14 piece partial fine bone china tea service manufactured by Shelley, England. The pieces feature a white interior decorated with hand-painted floral sprays, including a central pink rose-type flower and small blue blossoms, set against a pale blue ground on the saucers and lower sections of the cups. Each piece is finished with gilt-edged rims. The set includes tea cups, saucers, a milk jug, and a side plate. The bases bear a green transfer-printed Shelley backstamp within a shield-like border, inscribed FINE BONE CHINA ENGLAND. The milk jug base features a handwritten brown script signature reading F. johnson 1965, identifying the work of the notable factory artist Frank Johnson.
