Two Hand-Painted Bisque Porcelain Bird Figurines including a Maruri Budgerigar Group
Description
This lot comprises two separate hand-painted bisque porcelain bird figurines. The first study depicts a pair of budgerigars, one blue and white and the other yellow and green, perched on a textured branch with a single pink blossom. The underside of the porcelain base features handwritten script reading Budgerigar Maruri alongside an impressed square factory mark. The second study depicts a blue tit perched on a blossom-laden branch, which is mounted on a circular stepped wooden base. The underside of the porcelain branch bears a circular gold foil label with text that is not clearly legible. Both figurines are crafted from matte, unglazed porcelain and feature realistic textures.
