A.H. McIntosh Teak Dunvegan Sideboard Designed by Tom Robertson
Description
This mid-century modern teak sideboard was manufactured by A.H. McIntosh & Co. Ltd. of Kirkcaldy, Scotland, and designed by Tom Robertson. Identified as the Dunvegan model, the piece features a streamlined rectangular form constructed from teak and teak veneers. The facade is arranged with a bank of three graduated drawers to the left side, featuring integrated, sculpted wooden smile handles. To the centre is a double-door cupboard, complemented by a single-door cupboard to the right, both fitted with matching integrated pulls. The sideboard is elevated on four tapered legs, with a decorative shaped stretcher connecting the front pair. The top surface exhibits a continuous teak grain. An original metal identification label is present on the interior, bearing the text A.H. MCINTOSH & CO LTD, KIRKCALDY SCOTLAND, and a stylised logo with a pink M and superscript c.
