An Assortment of Cold War Era East German NVA Field Equipment in a Metal Transport Trunk
Description
An assortment of East German (DDR) Nationale Volksarmee field equipment dating from the mid-1960s, housed within a black-painted metal transport trunk. The collection features a folding field cot (Feldbett) constructed with a segmented tubular steel frame and heavy-duty olive-drab cotton canvas sleeping surface. The cot frame components are finished in grey industrial paint and fitted with black rubber-tipped feet. The lot includes a rolled olive-green sleeping bag within a water-resistant canvas stuff sack and a coarse-weave brown wool service blanket. A central canvas section of the cot displays printed markings including the sequence 99-125-1033 and the date code II / 66, signifying production in the second quarter of 1966. The transport trunk is constructed from sheet steel with a top-opening lid and a protective black coating.
