Lot 381:
An Assortment of 19th and 20th Century Ceramics and Metalware including Blue and White Transferware
Description
A varied collection of British and European ceramics and metalware, primarily featuring transfer-printed earthenware in the flow blue style characteristic of Staffordshire production. The ceramic components include a large oval lidded tureen decorated with foliate and scroll-work motifs, graduated sauce boats, and a large pitcher featuring pastoral landscape scenes. The lot also contains multiple plates and saucers with various floral and landscape patterns. Additionally, the collection includes a pair of lidded vessels with pierced lattice-work sides and blue borders, and two copper lustre glazed jugs, one of which features a blue decorative band. A polychrome teacup and saucer set with floral sprigs is also present. The metalware consists of two white-metal lidded vessels, including a teapot with a dark-coloured handle and a smaller lidded container, both appearing to be silver-plated or pewter. No factory marks or backstamps are visible from the provided orientation. A handwritten paper label is present on the transport tray but is not part of the catalogue description.
Tray length: approximately 43 cm (17 inches).
