A Roberts Revival portable transistor radio in bird and floral patterned fabric
Description
A portable transistor radio by Roberts, from the Revival series. The cabinet is upholstered in a cream-ground fabric decorated with a multi-coloured print of birds and floral motifs, a pattern associated with the manufacturer’s designer collaborations. The radio features a matching fabric-covered swing carry handle and a gold-toned metal mesh loudspeaker grille. A raised, gold-toned metallic Roberts logo in script is fixed to the front. The top-mounted control panel consists of two ivory-coloured plastic knobs for volume/power and tuning, and four push-button selectors for LW, MW, and FM wavebands. A linear tuning scale is housed beneath a clear plastic cover. A small white adhesive tag with the hand-written number 1576 is present on the top edge.
