Lot 62:
19th Century Rustic Wooden Plank Door with Hand-Forged Iron Hardware
Description
A primitive wooden plank door or hatch constructed from three horizontal timber planks, likely pine or a similar softwood. The structure is reinforced and joined by three hand-forged iron strap hinges of varying lengths, secured with primitive fixings. The wood surface exhibits a warm, aged patina with prominent natural grain, knots, and significant surface checking. The lower edge is notably irregular and weathered. A small white inventory label is visible on the upper left side. This type of door is characteristic of 19th-century vernacular architecture, commonly used for outbuildings, silos, or as a lid for storage bins.
Dimensions: 110 cm x 45 cm (Approximate).
