Description
A mid-century modern tallboy chest of drawers from the Minstrel range, designed by John and Sylvia Reid for Stag Furniture, circa 1960s. The piece is constructed with mahogany veneers over a solid wood carcass. It features an asymmetrical configuration of eight drawers, with four wider drawers stacked on the left and four narrower drawers on the right. All drawers are fitted with original brass-finished semi-circular loop handles. The chest is elevated on four integrated square-tapered legs. Internal drawer construction shows machine-cut dovetail joints and light-toned wood linings. The interior of one drawer bears a rectangular metallic manufacturer’s label with a leaping stag logo and the text STAG FURNITURE.
