A Vintage Universal Avometer Model 7 Multimeter
Description
A vintage Universal Avometer Model 7 multimeter, a classic piece of British electrical testing equipment. The unit is housed in a robust black Bakelite case and features a large analogue display with a mirrored scale to assist in accurate readings. The central section of the faceplate features a shield logo containing the text UNIVERSAL AVOMETER, with a small circular aperture below displaying the digit 7 to identify the model. The instrument is equipped with two primary rotary selector switches, labelled D.C. SWITCH and A.C. SWITCH, which provide various ranges for measuring voltage, amperage, resistance, and capacity. The faceplate also includes buttons for CUT-OUT RESET and several terminal connection points. A leather carrying strap is attached to the side of the casing. This model was produced by the Automatic Coil Winder and Electrical Equipment Co. Ltd. in the United Kingdom.
