An Assortment of Vintage and Antique Porcelain and Bone China Tea and Coffee Wares
Description
This collection consists of an assortment of vintage and antique ceramic tea and coffee wares, predominantly porcelain and bone china. The lot includes sentimental ware, such as a large white teacup featuring a transfer-printed poem titled Mother with gilded highlights, and two teacups decorated with a band of pink roses and gilded inscriptions, one reading To a Kind… . Also present are lustre and gilded wares, including a tall coffee or teapot and a smaller hexagonal lidded sugar bowl, both featuring orange lustre-style banding and gilded accents; the tall pot includes a simple transfer-printed landscape scene. The assortment further contains a dark green glazed teacup and matching saucer with gilded scrollwork and a central floral spray to the saucer, alongside various saucers with transfer-printed landscapes and floral designs, a small white creamer with floral motifs, and a large plain white porcelain bowl. Decoration techniques observed include transfer-printing and hand-applied gilding. The pieces are consistent with 20th-century manufacturing.
