Border Fine Arts Mouse on Pear Figurine Model 028
Description
This hand-painted figurine is a Border Fine Arts creation titled Mouse on Pear, model number 028. Produced in Scotland in 1984, the piece depicts a realistically modelled harvest mouse with tan and cream-coloured fur, perched on the side of a partially eaten pear. The interior of the fruit is rendered with a textured, pitted appearance to simulate bite marks. The figurine is crafted from hand-painted cold-cast porcelain and is mounted on a circular, polished mahogany-toned wooden plinth. The underside of the figurine base features a green felt covering with an original silver rectangular label that reads: 028, Mouse on Pear, BORDER FINE ARTS, HAND MADE IN SCOTLAND, and © Border Fine Arts Co. Ltd. 1984. A small white inventory sticker with the handwritten number 9754 is present on the top surface of the wooden plinth.
