A Pair of Staffordshire-Style White and Gilt Spaniel Chimney Ornaments
Description
A mirror-image pair of seated spaniel figurines, often referred to as Wally dugs. The dogs are constructed from white glazed moulded earthenware. They feature hand-painted black muzzles and eyes with yellow irises, black pupils, and eyelashes. Decorative elements include gilded collars with a central padlock and draped chain, as well as scattered gilded spots across the bodies. A small white label is attached to the chest of one figurine with the handwritten reference 745.
