Description

A group of British military service items comprising two medals, a pair of shoulder boards, and an original issue box. The collection includes a British War Medal 1914-1918, struck in solid silver. The obverse features the profile of King George V with the inscription GEORGIVS V BRITT: OMN: REX ET IND: IMP:. It is suspended from a silk ribbon with orange, white, black, and blue stripes. The second medal is a War Medal 1939-1945, struck in cupro-nickel. The reverse depicts a lion standing over a fallen two-headed dragon with the dates 1939 1945 at the base. It is suspended from a red, white, and blue striped silk ribbon.

The lot includes an original cardboard postal issue box marked O.H.M.S. (On His Majesty’s Service) with a circular OFFICIAL PAID postal stamp featuring a crown. The box is hand-addressed to MR J. MAGRATH, 1 BELVOIR RD, LONDON S.E. 22.

Also included is a pair of white fabric shoulder boards, typically associated with British Army Tropical Dress (No. 3) or similar uniforms. Each board is fitted with two silver-toned, four-pointed Bath Star rank insignia, denoting the rank of Lieutenant. The boards feature plain white plastic buttons and are contained within a clear plastic sleeve.
