Description
A collection of decorative objects comprising a rectangular lidded box and framed floral panels. The box is decorated with khatam-style micro-mosaic marquetry, featuring intricate geometric patterns composed of wood, bone, and metal wire. This style of inlay is traditionally associated with Iranian or Indian craftsmanship. The framed panels feature hand-painted floral subjects including a large pink peony on a yellow ground, yellow and orange roses, and red plum blossoms on a celadon green ground. One panel displays a square red seal mark in the lower right corner, though the Chinese characters within are not clearly legible. The paintings are housed in simple gilt-finished frames. The style and execution suggest these items date to the 20th century.
