A Trio of Victorian Mourning Jewellery Components including Jet and Vulcanite
Description
A trio of black jewellery components, characteristic of Victorian mourning jewellery. The first item is a circular component, possibly a brooch or large button, featuring a central polished black cabochon. This is surrounded by a recessed border decorated with a Greek key motif and finished with an outer twisted rope-style edge. The material appears to be moulded vulcanite or carved jet. The second item is an oval-shaped intaglio, likely jet or black glass, featuring a carved motif set within a simple, smooth black border. The third item is a highly polished, teardrop-shaped pendant made from a solid black material, likely jet or black glass. It is fitted at the narrow end with a simple white metal jump ring for suspension on a chain. No hallmarks, maker’s marks, or inscriptions are visible on any of the items.
