A Large Cased Taxidermy Specimen of a Brown Trout (Salmo trutta)
Description
A large skin-mounted specimen of a Brown Trout, presented in a naturalistic diorama. The fish is set amongst artificial gravel, reeds, and aquatic vegetation, positioned against a painted scenic background depicting an underwater environment. The specimen is housed in a traditional rectangular dark wood-framed glazed display case. The case retains original identification and provenance labels. The top central label reads CAUGHT ON 2ND MAY 1980 BY M.J. FARMER AT NOSTELL PRIORY YORKSHIRE, with a small paper label to the right numbered 9754. The bottom central label states BROWN TROUT 7lb. 12oz. The bottom right label reads TAKEN ON PHEASANT TAIL NYMPH. A further small paper label numbered 9753 is adhered to the lower front of the wooden frame.
