A Collection of Royal Military Police Uniform and Personal Equipment
Description
This collection of British Army militaria is primarily associated with the Royal Military Police (RMP) and dates from the post-1953 (Elizabeth II) period. The headgear includes a red-topped forage cap with a black band and a bi-metal cap badge featuring the EIIR cipher within a wreath, a red wool beret with a cap badge, and a khaki wool Service Dress (SD) cap with a red band and red chin strap. Uniform accoutrements consist of a white synthetic parade belt with a brass buckle bearing the RMP insignia, a striped webbing stable belt in the regimental colours of green, white, and red, and a white braided whistle lanyard. The lot also contains two sets of Sergeant rank chevrons embroidered onto sections of DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material) camouflage uniform fabric. Field gear and personal effects include a khaki canvas haversack with metal buckles, two vintage containers of foot powder (one green tin and one blue and white Myco tin), a brown glazed ceramic mug, a folding pocket knife, and a length of utility rope. Two plain brown cardboard storage boxes are also included.
