A Trio of Murano Art Glass Horse Head Figurines
Description
This lot comprises three hand-formed art glass horse head figurines, attributed to Murano based on the techniques employed and an identifying label. One figurine retains a rectangular foil label on the base which reads I.C. MURANO ITALY. The set includes a figurine executed in solid translucent amethyst-coloured glass, featuring a swept-back mane and an integral base. A second figurine is produced using the sommerso technique, with an emerald green core encased within thick, clear glass, finished with a textured, multi-pointed mane. The third figurine contains a deep cobalt blue core with a pulegoso effect of controlled internal air bubbles, encased in a clear glass outer layer and resting on a sculpted base.
Green horse: Approximately 14 cm in height.
Purple horse: Approximately 15.5 cm in height.
Blue horse: Approximately 11 cm in height.
