Description
A piece of vintage sheet music for the song Soft Light and Sweet Music, featuring words and music by Irving Berlin. This is the 1/- Edition published by Francis Day & Hunter Ltd, London, in association with Irving Berlin Inc., New York. The cover displays an Art Deco monochromatic green and white illustration depicting a couple in formal evening dress dancing on a terrace overlooking a cityscape and fountain. The item was produced circa 1932 for the musical revue Face the Music. Printed marks on the front cover include the title, composer attribution, and the publisher details for both the London and New York offices. Additional text states the edition is authorised for sale only in the British Empire, excepting Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. A small white adhesive inventory label with the handwritten number 501 is located on the lower right section of the illustration. The sheet music is presented in a clear protective sleeve.
