A Group of UK Copper-Alloy Coins and a Button, Late 18th to 19th Century
Description
A group of UK copper-alloy coins and a metal button. The most prominent piece is a George III cartwheel coin dated 1797, featuring a wide raised rim with incuse lettering; the reverse shows a seated Britannia with a trident and shield. The collection includes several other heavily worn copper-alloy coins, likely comprising pennies, halfpennies, or farthings from the late 18th and 19th centuries. One smaller coin features a shield-like design on the reverse. The group also contains a circular metal button with a visible shank on the reverse. All items are struck in copper-alloy and exhibit dark, aged patinas.
