A Mid-Century Ceramic Coffee and Tea Service in the Cornpoppy Pattern, Attributed to Susie Cooper for Wedgwood
Description
A set of glazed white ceramic tableware featuring the bold floral Cornpoppy pattern, attributed to the designer Susie Cooper for Wedgwood. The decoration consists of large, stylized red poppy heads with tonal orange highlights and dark blackish-green stems, applied as transfer prints. The collection includes a tall cylindrical coffee pot with a curved spout and flat lid with a circular knob, a bulbous narrow-necked vessel, a lidded sugar bowl, a smaller lidded preserve jar, a milk jug, a group of cups with loop handles, and a stack of matching saucers. The pieces exhibit characteristic mid-century modernist forms with clean lines. No manufacturer marks are visible on the undersides from the provided angle. A white auction sticker numbered 9735 is affixed to the body of the coffee pot, and a price sticker is present on the lid of the smaller jar.
Coffee pot height: approximately 25.5 cm.
