A Trio of Murano Style Art Glass Figurines including a Large Pheasant
Description
A trio of mid-20th-century style art glass figurines, consistent with the designs and techniques of Murano glassmakers. The largest piece is a hand-blown glass pheasant or bird of paradise with a long, sweeping tail. It employs the sommerso (submerged) technique, featuring internal layers of red, forest green, and amber glass encased in clear glass, mounted on a textured, multi-pointed starburst base. The collection also includes two stylized aquatic figurines, possibly leaping dolphins or fish. One features a transparent aqua glass body on a base with yellow and green internal swirling, while the other is clear glass with yellow internal highlights mounted on a bulbous teal-coloured base. A small white rectangular label with the handwritten number 101 is present on the bird body. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
Bird length: approximately 36 cm (14 inches)
Aquatic figures height: approximately 18 cm (7 inches).
