A Laurel and Hardy Resin Figurine in Prison Uniforms
Description
A hand-painted resin figurine of the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy, depicted as convicts. The pair are shown in a seated pose, wearing traditional black and white horizontal striped prison uniforms and their signature black bowler hats. Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy are shackled together at the wrists with a silver-coloured chain. Each figure has an individual ball and chain attached to their outer ankle. The figurine is cast from a composite resin material. An adhesive inventory label marked 9731 over a lowercase p is attached to the leg of the larger figure. No manufacturer’s marks or artist signatures are visible. Similar models are frequently attributed to the artist Peter Mook.
