An Assortment of British and Commonwealth Military Cap and Collar Badges
Description
This collection contains a variety of British and Commonwealth military cap badges, collar badges, and regimental hackles dating from the late Victorian period through to the mid-20th Century. The assortment includes insignia for various units including the 25th (County of London) Cyclist Battalion, the London Rifle Brigade, The Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment), and the Royal Artillery. Many badges feature royal cyphers including those of George V and George VI, as well as heraldic symbols such as the Irish harp and flaming grenades associated with Fusilier regiments. The badges are constructed from a range of materials including brass, bi-metal (brass and white metal), white metal, and blackened or bronzed copper-alloys common to rifle regiments. The lot also features three dyed feather hackles in orange and navy blue, white, and red.
