WWII German Kriegsmarine High Seas Fleet War Badge by Schwerin Berlin
Description
A World War II German High Seas Fleet War Badge (Flotten-Kriegsabzeichen), a combat decoration of the Kriegsmarine. The badge features a central motif of a battleship modelled on the Tirpitz heading through the sea, enclosed by a vertical oval oak leaf wreath. The top of the wreath is surmounted by a national emblem consisting of an eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika. This is a late-war example struck in zinc (Kriegsmetall). The reverse is flat-backed and features incised markings for the designer, FEC. ADOLF BOCK, and the manufacturer, AUSF. SCHWERIN BERLIN. The hardware consists of a soldered-on block hinge and a C-form catch.
