India General Service Medal 1908-1935 with Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919 and Waziristan 1919-21 Clasps
Description
A silver India General Service Medal (1908-1935) featuring the George V effigy. The obverse displays the crowned profile of King George V facing left, with the surrounding inscription GEORGIVS V KAISAR-I-HIND. The reverse depicts a mountainous landscape with Jamrud Fort at the entrance to the Khyber Pass, and the word INDIA in a wreath below. The medal is mounted with two silver clasps: AFGHANISTAN N.W.F. 1919 and WAZIRISTAN 1919-21, and is suspended by a swivel scroll mount. The original ribbon is present, consisting of a broad central blue stripe flanked by green outer edges. The edge of the medal is officially impressed with the recipient’s details: 2652 L-NK.
