Two Items of British Army Insignia Comprising a Royal Regiment of Fusiliers Cap Badge with Hackle and a Drum Major Appointment Badge
Description
This lot comprises two distinct pieces of British Army uniform insignia. The first item is a Royal Regiment of Fusiliers cap badge, featuring a bi-metal construction with a gilt-finished flaming grenade and a silvered central device depicting St. George slaying the dragon within a garter. The badge is mounted at the base of a traditional bi-colour feather hackle, consisting of a red upper section over a white lower section. The second item is a Drum Major’s appointment badge, typically worn on the sleeve. This large badge is heavily embroidered in multi-coloured silks on a shaped red felt background, depicting two crossed Union Flags on yellow poles surmounted by a St. Edward’s Crown. A white adhesive inventory label marked 9703 is attached to the front of the embroidered badge.
