A Group of British Campaign and Service Medals including the Burma Star and General Service Medal with Malaya Clasp
Description
This collection consists of British military awards swing-mounted on a pin-back mounting bar. The group includes campaign stars and medals from the Second World War and a post-war service medal. The awards comprise a 1939-1945 Star and a Burma Star, both struck in bronze with their respective titles in central medallions. The cupro-nickel awards include a Defence Medal, which features the effigies of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on the obverse and is inscribed THE DEFENCE MEDAL with the dates 1939 and 1945 on the reverse. Also included is a War Medal 1939-1945 featuring the effigy of King George VI. The group is completed by a General Service Medal (1918-1962) bearing the crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and fitted with a single clasp inscribed MALAYA. The medals are suspended from their specific campaign and service ribbons. No naming is visible on the medal rims in the provided photographs.
