WW2 Long Range Desert Group LRDG Brass Cap Badge by W.A. Dowler and Sons
Description
A British Army brass cap badge for the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG), a specialist reconnaissance and raiding unit active during the North African Campaign of the Second World War. The badge is of circular open-work construction, featuring a central raised scorpion above the unit initials LRDG. The reverse is fitted with a standard vertical brass slider for attachment to a beret or cap. The slider is stamped with the maker’s mark WAD, identifying the manufacturer as W.A. Dowler and Sons.
