An official British Royal Air Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, Elizabeth II issue. This circular silver award features on the obverse the crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, surrounded by the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F: D:. The reverse depicts an eagle in flight with outspread wings, surmounted by a crown, with the circular inscription around the edge reading FOR LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT. The medal is attached to a fixed, ornate scroll-type silver suspension bar. The original ribbon is present, composed of equal bands of dark blue and crimson, bordered by narrow white stripes. The rim of the medal is officially impressed with the recipient’s service number, rank, name, and service branch: 4037055 CPL B T EVANS R.A.F.
