A Collection of German Third Reich Era Civil and Military Documents and Soviet CPSU Registration Cards
Description
An assortment of German Third Reich era civil and military documents along with Soviet political registration cards. The German section contains several examples of the Arbeitsbuch (Labour Book), featuring two variations of the national eagle emblem. Two tan-coloured civilian Reisepässe (passports) are included, marked for the Deutsches Reich and featuring centrally placed national emblems. Military service records consist of a grey-covered Wehrpass and a Soldbuch (pay book). A red membership book for the Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF) is also present, bearing the characteristic gearwheel and swastika symbol. The Soviet portion of the collection comprises red registration cards for members of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), printed with the Cyrillic title Uchetnaya Kartochka Chlena KPSS. These cards are associated with Smirnov Leonid Mikhailovich and feature various serial numbers, including 02064033 and 11676049. All documents are constructed from printed card and paper with manuscript entries.
