Description
This lot comprises two model aircraft representing the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. The first is a large scale, plastic kit-built model of a Supermarine Spitfire. It is finished in a camouflaged green and grey scheme with black and white D-Day invasion stripes on the fuselage and wings. The aircraft displays the squadron code NN and standard RAF roundels. It features a four-blade propeller with a white spinner and extended landing gear. The second item is a smaller scale model of an Avro Lancaster heavy bomber, mounted on a black plastic display stand. The base of the stand is printed with the text Avro Lancaster Admiral Prune, identifying it as the well known aircraft of No. 106 Squadron RAF. This model is finished in a standard night bomber camouflage scheme with RAF roundels and features four engines with three-blade propellers. A white adhesive sticker with the handwritten characters 9703 is present on the base.
